Melanotan II (MT-II)

What Is Melanotan II?
Melanotan II is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide derived from alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Unlike more receptor-selective melanocortin compounds, MT-II can interact with several melanocortin receptor subtypes. Early studies examined pigmentation and sexual physiological responses, while animal research has explored appetite, metabolism, thermoregulation, and other receptor-mediated effects.
Human evidence remains limited, and reports of serious adverse events associated with nonmedical use reinforce the need to distinguish experimental findings from established clinical safety.
