What Is Mechano Growth Factor?
Mechano Growth Factor (MGF), also known as IGF-1Ec in humans, is a peptide produced through alternative splicing of the IGF-1 gene in response to mechanical stress or tissue injury. Unlike circulating IGF-1, MGF is expressed locally within tissues and has been studied for its involvement in cellular repair, muscle adaptation, and regenerative signaling.
Most published evidence comes from laboratory and animal research, while human clinical studies remain limited and additional investigation is needed to better understand its biological significance. (Goldspink G. et al., Gene, 1996; Goldspink G., Journal of Anatomy, 2005.)
