TA-1 (Thymosin Alpha 1)

What Is Thymosin Alpha 1?
Thymosin Alpha 1 (TA-1) is a peptide naturally derived from the precursor protein prothymosin alpha and is produced by the thymus. It has been studied for several decades in relation to immune-cell maturation, antigen presentation, cytokine signaling, and host immune responses. Human clinical research has evaluated TA-1 in a variety of settings involving infectious diseases, oncology, and immune dysfunction.
While TA-1 has been approved for specific indications in some countries, regulatory status and approved uses differ internationally. (King R, Tuthill C. Ann N Y Acad Sci. 2015; Garaci E. Ann N Y Acad Sci. 2007.)
